Event Groups:
• State Support Team 6 - District Events
Description:

Mentoring is an effective strategy for the professional development of any educator. This workshop is
designed to equip experienced educators with the knowledge and skills needed to provide mentoring
support to paraprofessionals, in order to better enable them to meet the instructional and behavioral
needs of learners.

This three-session “flipped classroom” professional learning workshop explores best practices for
mentoring paraprofessionals and practical application of strategies that provide effective support to
them. What is a “flipped” online workshop? It is a series of professional learning sessions that are
organized in the following way: Participants view videos and do readings and activities prior to
participating in a face-to-face Zoom session. Then they use the Zoom session to debrief. So that
participants can get the most out of this learning opportunity, it is important that they complete any
required readings in advance and be fully engaged in the Zoom sessions.
