The first 30 participants from Region 6 to register will receive Archer and Hughes' book "Explicit Instruction Effective and Efficient Teaching" as part of this training series. Sections of text will be assigned for reading and participants will be asked to practice the strategies in their classroom in between sessions. Explicit instruction is systematic, direct, engaging, and success oriented--and has been shown to promote achievement for all students. The highly practical and accessible resource gives special and general education teachers the tools to implement explicit instruction in any grade level or content area. The authors are leading experts who provide clear guidelines for identifying key concepts, skills, and routines to teach; designing and delivering effective lessons; and giving students opportunities to practice and master new material.

Contact hours: 12 *All assignments must be completed to receive contact hours. No partial credit will be given.
