District/school teams will reflect and analyze current practices that support academics, social-emotional, and behavioral in order to align practices into an effective MTSS. Teams will explore the use learning progressions (or planning for the instruction and assessment of all students). Learning Progressions are an expansion or detailed description of grade level content standards that allow entry points for a wide range of students such as those who are on extended standards to those who might have already mastered the standard.

Learning Progressions are useful to teachers, administrators, and students as well as districts who have a focus in standard deconstruction, clarity of goals, learning targets, or success criteria. They are also useful for districts who are trying to close achievement gaps for a variety of students or improve efforts in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities. Simply put, learning progressions are what students will need to know and do for each standard.
