Our consultants serve as implementation specialists, aligning services to the Department's Vision outlined in Ohio's plan for K-12 Mathematics. This alignment includes supporting educators, families, and community partners to improve literacy outcomes for all learners through technical assistance, intensive on-site coaching, and universal networking opportunities.
The primary focus of the SST Mathematics consultants is to intensify and deepen implementation of the Instructional Improvement and Data-Based Decision-Making Responsibilities as they apply to mathematics instruction. In practice, this means providing more frequent, more sustained, and more content-specific coaching and support to schools and teachers to strengthen core instruction, improve use of high-quality instructional materials, and build strong data-informed instructional routines in mathematics. Also, as the foundational practices are implemented and sustained, Math Specialists may provide additional direct services aligned to Ohio's 4-level Coaching Model.
